Benefits of Pre-treatment HydraFacials

A perfect foundation for facial treatments.

HydraFacials are one of the most popular aesthetic treatments in the United States. Since there is no downtime, patients can get a Hydrafacial year round and even before big events. HydraFacial helps to improve overall skin texture, tone, and appearance. This is due to the deep exfoliation that removes debris from your pores, and allows for better penetration of skincare products and HydraFacial solutions or serums.

Before we talk about why you want to get a HydraFacial before your facial treatments like IPL, Morpheus8, SkinPen and facial filler, let us recap what a HydraFacial actually is. This is not a typical “spa” facial; however, it does feel refreshing and can be performed in a relaxing manner. Hydrafacials are typically focused on getting the patient the best medical-grade results possible.

The HydraFacial treatment has 4 main steps that take about 30 minutes to complete:

  1. Cleanse & Exfoliate- Using vortex-fusion technology, the specialized Hydrafacial tip gently cleans and exfoliates the skin. This removes dead skin cells and oil while opening your pores in preparation for the next steps.

  2. Chemical Peel- Don’t worry. This isn’t a snake skin shedding sheet peel like our ZO Skin Health 3-Step Peel. This comfortable glycolic and salicylic peel will cause a gentle and effective peel without any shedding after the treatment is over. It also loosens debris from the pores in preparation for Step Three.

  3. Extraction- This step uses powerful yet comfortable vortex suction to remove blackheads and other impurities from your pores.

  4. Hydration- Your aesthetician will infuse your skin with a hydrating serum full of antioxidants, peptides, and other beneficial nutrients. This hydrates, detoxifies and rejuvenates the skin cells and leaves you with a glowing appearance.

So, what are the benefits of a pre-procedure HydraFacial? HydraFacial allows us to deep clean the skin and start you off with a clean canvas. Your pre-procedure skincare products will penetrate much better. It lessens the chance of a post-procedure breakout because you have a healthy oil-water balance in your skin.

Our skin’s first reaction when having any kind of procedure done is to try to heal and hydrate, but our skin often does this by producing more oil. Infusing the skin with antioxidants and hydration alleviates it’s natural reaction to overproduce oil. That being said, most laser, light therapy, and radiofrequency (RF) treatments are drawn to the water in our cells.

If our cells are fully hydrated and functioning healthily, we are optimizing our skin for the best result. Your skin tolerates the treatment so much better. Not to mention adding in one of our boosters that will help amplify the overall skin health results that you are trying to achieve. We use Britenol for hyperpigmentation, Dermabuilder for fine lines and wrinkles, or Regen which combines the former as well as speeds up your skin cell turnover.

Simply put, healthier skin heals faster.
